Cryptovalley Zug visit: TC Sessions Blockchain

We were invited to Techcrunch Sessions Zug: Blockchain in the first week of July. There were many friendly faces in Zurich and Zug including Mike Butcher and the Techcrunch crew and all the crypto crowd.

Its a Unicorn and Llama mix!

Ethereum’s rockstars Vitalik, Karl, Vlad, and our friend Justin Drake, who was in our office a while ago talking about a project, had one of the best sessions on scalability. Although they take decentralisation seriously they don't take themselves seriously, which gets them many more fans (including us!).

TC Sessions Zug was a very well curated main-stream tech coverage of the whole space, perhaps one of the best ones we’ve seen to date. All sessions were recorded and are available to watch via Techcrunch or Youtube.

The Ethereum Meetup sub-event on the next day took a deeper look at the main topics and issues on the platform.

Berlin

Berlin is the beating heart of decentralisation and so we went to Dappcon in Berlin end of July meeting interesting projects and some of our industry friends.

In Gav We Trust, Gavin from Polkadot

The Berlin Polkadot Governance meetup was rad and Gav was on great form giving a solid update for all the Polkadot hodlers.

Investments

We are making headway on several special investments but we are going to announce these in August ;)

Social Alpha

We made a small donation and became Founding Patrons alongside the great Kenetic, Hashed and TLDR crypto funds with Nydia Zhang and Jehan Chu’s new project the Social Alpha Foundation. It’s a grant-making platform that focuses on supporting Blockchain education and outreach to empower communities to utilize Blockchain technology for social good. We are huge supporters of this new initiative! One of the first edcucation grantees, Aparna Krishnan, was recently named a Thiel Fellow for her activities in the blockchain space.

Hottest Blockchain Investor (Europe)… We won!
