London’s crypto community gathered for the very first KRYPTONIGHT hosted by KR1. At the very colourful pop art inspired venue Huckletree Shoreditch, in the central Finsbury Square, we heard from some of the hottest blockchain projects in the UK and Europe. To open the evening in an electric atmosphere, Hon. Albert Isola (Gibraltar’s Minister for Commerce) described Gibraltar’s keenness in regulating blockchain activities while welcoming fresh start-up in the blockchain space incorporating in the country after proper validation and becoming validators for newcomers themselves.

The Minister’s presentation was swiftly followed by cutting-edge projects Alice, NEO’s City of Zion, GBX and Vo1t, which grabbed the attention of a thirsty crowd. The projects displayed a diversity of initiatives and purposes, described by some as “eye opening”.

From the social venture we heard how smart contracts, built on blockchain technology, help keep donors’ transactions transparent and reliant on successful outcomes. Founder and CEO, Raphaël Mazet disclosed plans to be able to offer a totally transparent and replicable way to monitor objectives and outcomes to socially meaningful projects. Having the potential to change the way funding for social or environmental purposes is allocated, it is pioneering a new way of project monitoring, allowing open data, traceability and sharing of best practice.
